Crimson Business is delighted to welcome two new members to our dynamic and hard-working team:
Gary Poolman has joined Crimson as Sales Director from Guardian Media Group where he managed the regional sales teams. For the last 16 years Gary has occupied a number of senior positions within the business-to-business (B2B) publishing industry working on various national and international titles. During this time he has launched and revived the fortunes of several leading titles.
On joining Crimson, Gary said: “I’m excited about working with the quality and strength of the Crimson brand and portfolio. Crimson is established as one of the leading publishing companies in the entrepreneurial, small and mid-sized business space. These are exciting times and I’m really looking forward to driving further growth and the development of the commercial side of the business.”
Among Gary’s claims to fame are having had the privilege of playing football with George Best, if only for 10 minutes, and snooker with the legendary Steve Davis – a match he perhaps understandably lost.
Ian Wallis has re-joined Crimson as Editorial Director. Ian previously worked for Crimson between September 1999 and March 2008 on e.BUSINESS magazine, Growing Business, and Startups.co.uk. He was Editor of Growing Business from January 2006 and Managing Editor of the business editorial until leaving to join online business services website cmypitch.com as Head of Entrepreneur TV. While there Ian produced exclusive interviews with high profile entrepreneurs such as Sir James Dyson, Charles Dunstone, Dame Mary Perkins, James Caan and 60 more. A brief stint as Editor of eGaming Review magazine, the leading publication in the online gambling industry followed, before returning to Crimson this month.
In his new role, Ian will be seeking to help expand the reach of Crimson’s brands, tweak existing products and fully integrate the company’s successful business books division with its websites and magazine.
It is also a great pleasure to announce two recent promotions within Crimson Business:
Sara Rizk has been promoted to Editor of Startups.co.uk, having been a fundamental asset to Crimson Business for nearly four years and providing consistently invaluable input, not least with the ongoing re-launch project of Startups.co.uk and forthcoming Startups 100 list.
Caroline Maddison has been promoted to Marketing Executive, having taken on marketing implementation for all business events, day to day circulation and circulation marketing for Growing Business magazine and undertaking increased email marketing activities.
Congratulations go to all of the above on their thoroughly well-deserved appointments and for raising the bar of what Crimson Business can achieve in 2010.
